Guidelines for Patients from Other Cities
Our positive results in treating patients from all over Brazil are the result of sound guidance and methodical work, which needs to be followed rigorously.
Patients from Other Cities
Our team performs surgical procedures on patients from all over Brazil, so we rigorously follow certain precautions to ensure everything goes as safely as possible. Here are the main guidelines if you are one of them:
- Upon arrival in Curitiba, be accompanied by a family member who is 18 years of age or older;
- Após a alta hospitalar, o paciente deverá permanecer em Curitiba até a liberação dos médicos para o retorno a sua cidade (cirurgias maiores exigem maior tempo de permanência em Curitiba);
- In most cases, the patient does not need to remain in a hospital unit for the entire postoperative period. After discharge, the patient may stay in a hotel or nearby residence until they are cleared to return.
- If the patient chooses to return home as soon as possible, the post-operative evaluation appointment will take place via telemedicine. Contact with the surgical team is required during the recovery period.
- The recently operated patient will have the team's telephone contact during their stay in Curitiba-PR in order to provide specialized follow-up;
Yes, surgeries performed by Dr. Thomas Marcolini's team can be covered by your health insurance plan. The surgeries are performed at leading hospitals in Curitiba-PR, including Hospital Sugisawa, Hospital Nossa Senhora das Graças, and Hospital Pilar. It's important to note that coverage amounts, procedures, materials, and doctors vary depending on each plan and coverage; be sure to contact your insurance provider, or contact us and we will assist you in doing so.
What are my rights and responsibilities as a patient?
In order for us to work together and offer the best possible care, please understand that your rights include access to health information, fair treatment, and freedom of choice regarding your medical decisions. Our team is committed to supporting and defending your rights, including your confidentiality, personal dignity, and safety, as well as respecting your cultural, psychological, and spiritual values.
Como é feita a solicitação de cirurgia?
Following a medical recommendation that surgery is necessary, we require your health insurance card and the results of your pre-operative exams. We will request authorization and assist you in any way possible to complete this process.
Como funciona a internação hospitalar?
For hospital admission, the patient must arrive before the scheduled surgery time in order to calmly register at reception, carefully filling out all forms. The patient must comply with the medical recommendations given during the pre-operative consultation (clothing, fasting, etc.).
Como funciona a alta hospitalar? Parte importante!
